Job Summary
Asteroid Health is seeking a compassionate and skilled Lead Therapist to provideevidence-based clinical care and guide clients through treatment from intake to discharge. Inthis role you will conduct assessments, develop individualized treatment plans, deliver therapyservices, collaborate with the care team, and ensure high standards of clinical documentationand client support.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments to determine clients’ mental health needs
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on clinical best practices
- Provide psychotherapy and counseling services to individuals, families, and groups
- Utilize crisis intervention techniques to support clients in acute distress
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate client care
- Offer referrals and support to connect clients with community services
- Stay updated with developments in behavioral health and evidence-based practices
- Support clients throughout the treatment process from intake through discharge
- Manage and maintain a reasonable clinical caseload
Skills
- Proficiency in medical records management
- Strong understanding of behavioral health principles and clinical practices
- Experience working in mental health settings (partial-care or psychiatric day treatment preferred)
- Excellent crisis intervention and de-escalation skills
- Knowledge of diverse psychotherapy techniques
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and quality care
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in a behavioral health-related field
- Licensure in social work, counseling, marriage and family therapy, or substance use therapy (e.g., LICSW, LMHC, LMFT, or equivalent)
- Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in the field
- Knowledge of diagnostic standards (such as DSM)
- Demonstrated computer proficiency and strong communication skills
- Team-oriented mindset with a collaborative approach
